Thank you for your generous support of our Marines, sailors & soldiers recovering from serious wounds at Brooke Army Medical Center. Attached is an accounting of the expenditure of funds in support of our heroes for our visit of 28 & 29 January 2007 as well as a copy of the insert that was put into every gift bag distributed to the wounded inpatients and outpatients giving proper credit to the contributors.
Regarding: Donations in support of Marines & other service personnel at Brooke Army Medical Center
Also attached are three photographs taken Sunday & Monday during our visit to BAMC. The first photo is of some of our wounded making their way through the line for the breakfast provided by your generosity. In the background in the white sweater is the wife of Captain Fred Balmes who was a CH-53 pilot in Vietnam in '69 & '70 and that is my bride, Debbie Reed, brushing her hair back while Gold Star Sister, Brenda Kaiser, is behind a wounded Marine as she comes out of the kitchen carrying more hot food. The second photo finds some of our ambulatory wounded visiting with each other in advance of a Purple Heart ceremony held in the 4th floor BAMC burn unit auditorium Monday afternoon following the dedication of the Center For The Intrepid. The third photo is of Debbie (brunette) and Brenda (blonde) with SSgt. Alex Del Rio, a double amputee standing on his prosthetic legs at the breakfast in advance of the dedication on Monday.
Please share this communication and the attached photos solely with the Marines in "B" Battery, 12ht Marines, Vietnam and Echo 2/3, Vietnam.
May God bless each of you with His unending grace and,
Semper Fi Marines,
Jerry Reed
